Disruptive Startups Pitch and Demo in the Valley

F&B, Advertising, Human Resources, Fashion, Language Learning, Children’s Literature, any of those industries can be disrupted, and I saw it at the ‘Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs meet up’ on the 1st of December Pitch and Demo Event in San Francisco. I must say, some of them REALLY surprised me.

The majority of these products have already run successful Kickstarter campaigns and have received funding for their prototype. They were looking to move to the next stage with their pitch and I was impressed with the quality of their presentations.

The winners of the pitch were:

// 1st Position: ‘Six foods’ : Cricket chips http://www.sixfoods.com/#products

// 2nd Position: ‘ETCH’ : a multitasking keyboard that allows you to quickly search for and share content without ever having to tap away from the friends you are chatting with in any app. https://www.etchfor.me/

// 3rd position: ‘Odo’: Self cleaning denim with anti stain and stink technology http://www.ododenim.com/

These other participants were notable:

  • ‘Tribll’ [pronounced Tribal] is a mobile app that promotes employment retention and engagement. Team members can form strong connections with each other through informal and intimate (up to 6 people) self-organized events. http://tribll.com/

  • ‘United devs’ – Developers from Costa Rica provide software outsourcing, systems integration and solution delivery services. http://www.united-devs.com/

  • ‘Exhibia’: A Facebook bidding fee auction app for brand new items and gift cards. https://www.exhibia.com/’

  • ‘Blooders’: A mobile application that connects blood donors directly to hospitals or patients through a very simple appointment systemhttps://blooders.org/

  • ‘Crayon Crunch’: A platform that creates personalized children’s bookshttp://www.crayoncrunch.com/

  • ‘Kaidoora’: ongoing website management for owner-operated small business. https://www.kaidoora.com/

Which one do you find the most interesting or disruptive?
